Turkey bandwagon

As I was walking out of the subway this morning, shuffling along slowly with a big gift that seemed too big for someone like me to be carrying along Fifth Avenue, I regretted not bringing my iPod to keep me entertained on my burdensome walk. But then I got stressed. I thought to myself - even if I had my iPod - I would just be listening to Rise Against because I have some self-inflicted homework to do before the concert this Sunday.

So then I thought - Turkey is making me go to this concert, almost against my will. You just assume that since you really want to go that I will go with you. But the cool thing is - I guess that's what turkeys are for. It's an automatic date to something that you really want to go to, see, do, etc. Of course my mind instantly thinks - what can I make Turkey go to that will even the playing field. And then I thought - I really want to go to the movies ... IN the theatre. As much as I love the couch we cuddle on and comfortably watch movies from - I like being in the theatre. It makes me feel social. SO - I have decided we will watch 500 Days of Summer. It's a rom-com (that's what people in the biz call romantic comedies these days). And we will watch it when I say we'll watch it. Most likely this weekend (if there's time) or next Wednesday (gasp - a school night). But you're making me to go to concert on a Sunday - and that's just ridiculous.

So no complaining. And besides - you like rom coms... Ok fine. Maybe not - but you do like Zooey Deschanel who is getting great reviews. One critic said it's her best work yet (he clearly didn't see Elf).
