Pimp ship

I looked up the lyrics to my new favorite song by Keri Hilson called Knock You Down, featuring Kanye and Ne-Yo. The lyrics are really romantic actually. Here's my favorite part from Ne-Yo:

I used to be commander-in-chief for my pimp ship flying high
Till I met this pretty little missile, who shot me out the sky

That's like modern day Shakespeare if you ask me. We could fall in turkey love all over again really. Speaking of - our wedding is in 62 days. SIXTY TWO days!! It's weird because eveyrone seems to say we should be so stressed. We haven't been yet and it somewhat freaks me out. We better geehehtt on thahahat.

Oreos are the devil

The oreo jar (yes we have one) just got refilled. They are practically taunting me. Silently screaming my name, talking to me in languages I don't understand, needing me, wanting me, taking me...

I refuse to eat them for 2 months until the wedding. By trust you me, the moment we get back from our honeymoon and I'm back to work - I will have one. Or seven. I just had lunch and yet I'm so hungry. How in the world do people diet!?!?

Punk off

I was thinking of the two sets of people we tried to befriend last night. I could understand why the group of 18 year olds wouldn't be too friendly (though they sure were excited to get their picture taken). They were probably intimidated by all your white hairs and our blue wristbands. We were clearly a decade older than them, with their bright eyes and bushy tails.

But I was thinking of our pseudo-couple twin. They clearly weren't talking to anyone else and looked bored and in the need of some company. But when we approached them - they seemed a bit unfriendly. WTF!? I mean - perhaps it's because we're better looking than both of them or perhaps they were on a date and we were cramping their style. But regardless, I thought it was weird.

That's what we get for trying to be nice. Yeah well - good thing we won't be doing that again anytime soon.

That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoooaaaa.

White wedding

I was listening to Billy Idol on my walk to work this morning. This guy is a hit factory. From White Wedding to Rock the Cradle to Dancing With Myself. I mean - just amazing tunes. I was thinking about how much I love certain artists and the energy they provide me. For example - I've been really into INXS lately. When I listen to them nonstop - I feel a burst of energy as if I just bit into a tart Starburst candy. Just so good! Too bad a wedding is only a few hours. Otherwise - we could play ALL of our favorite songs.

Oh the pressure of remembering all of the good songs to play at our reception!

Turkey bandwagon

As I was walking out of the subway this morning, shuffling along slowly with a big gift that seemed too big for someone like me to be carrying along Fifth Avenue, I regretted not bringing my iPod to keep me entertained on my burdensome walk. But then I got stressed. I thought to myself - even if I had my iPod - I would just be listening to Rise Against because I have some self-inflicted homework to do before the concert this Sunday.

So then I thought - Turkey is making me go to this concert, almost against my will. You just assume that since you really want to go that I will go with you. But the cool thing is - I guess that's what turkeys are for. It's an automatic date to something that you really want to go to, see, do, etc. Of course my mind instantly thinks - what can I make Turkey go to that will even the playing field. And then I thought - I really want to go to the movies ... IN the theatre. As much as I love the couch we cuddle on and comfortably watch movies from - I like being in the theatre. It makes me feel social. SO - I have decided we will watch 500 Days of Summer. It's a rom-com (that's what people in the biz call romantic comedies these days). And we will watch it when I say we'll watch it. Most likely this weekend (if there's time) or next Wednesday (gasp - a school night). But you're making me to go to concert on a Sunday - and that's just ridiculous.

So no complaining. And besides - you like rom coms... Ok fine. Maybe not - but you do like Zooey Deschanel who is getting great reviews. One critic said it's her best work yet (he clearly didn't see Elf).

Twilight Struggle

How is this game in the Top 5 on Board Game Geek and yet I've never heard of it? Apparently it's ideal for 2 players. I think the Turkeys need to get involved.
